EFCU Scholarship Program

We feel that an investment made in our students today is an investment in the future for all of us. For this reason, Elko Federal Credit Union created our college scholarship program to benefit deserving students in our communities.

We will be awarding six $1,000 scholarships for a total of $6,000 to deserving high school seniors attending Elko, Spring Creek, Wells, and Carlin High Schools who plan on furthering their education.

  • Official copy of your high school transcripts
  • Copy of your acceptance letter as a full-time student to an accredited institution of higher learning
  • 500 – 600 word essay about the most critical issue or problem your generation is currently facing
  • Authorization release form (if applicable – see last page of application)

To submit application and supporting documents, you may:

  • Give to your school guidance counselor; or
  • Mail to Elko Federal Credit Union,

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: *All complete applications will be reviewed by volunteer members of EFCU’s Student Scholarship Committee and Board of Directors and awards will be determined in a fair and consistent manner. EFCU does not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, marital status, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or disability. Employees and volunteers of EFCU and their family members are eligible to apply. All application information will be kept strictly confidential. Student applicant must be or become a member of EFCU with an EFCU savings account prior to issuance of a scholarship and a high school graduate in 2022 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in high school. High school transcripts will be required. Application must be a legal U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident. Acceptance required as a full-time student at an accredited institution: university, community college, trade school or vocational school. Written acceptance letter must be provided. Two (2) letters of recommendation from influencing adults: teacher, coach, counselor, community leader, employer, etc. must be included with application. A written essay is required (see application for topic requirements). Special consideration will be given to students who have been involved in extracurricular and/or community service activities. Application must be postmarked, received by an EFCU representative or school guidance counselor by 5:30 pm on Friday, April 29, 2022 to be considered.
